Direct Mail Services and Digital Printing announced for 2017 UK General Election

The UK Prime Minister Theresa May has just today announced plans to call for a snap general election on 8 June 2017.  The prime minister needs Parliament’s backing to hold a vote before the next scheduled date of 2020 and will be seeking this tomorrow April 19th.

As a major Mailing House WDM will be providing ‘Election Sort’ direct mail and variable printing facilities to candidates across the UK.  Electionsort is a sortation program that matches postcodes to Royal Mail walksort codes. It will arrange and group addresses together and create a set of output files that can be used to print the bundle and container as labels per Royal Mail requirements.

“The direct mail and variable printing needs of candidates are hugely complex.”  Said Jon Beasley, IT Director for WDM.

“They require speed, scalable resources, on-site printing, automated folding, enclosing, hand packing, and crucially experience to get them right.

We have it all here, at our Direct Mailing facilities on Team Valley, Gateshead, in the North of England, and we look forward to helping candidates get their messages to the right audience on time, on budget and looking great.”

Any UK candidates who require direct mail services, variable digital printing, design or data management advice should contact us using the form below and ask for help with election sort.
